At WellBeing Within Reach, we believe that one of our main roles as parents is to provide and teach our children healthy eating and lifestyle habits. Eating healthy helps all of us lead happier and more fulfilling lives. Isn’t that what we all want for our children?  We also believe we are what we eat (and buy). Processed and packaged foods are the current mainstay of the American diet. Conscious Kitchen (Family Session Package)

Conscious  Kitchen is a four-session in-home program designed to overhaul the  family kitchen. It’s a step-by-step process that helps families achieve a healthy, nutritious and delicious kitchen. The program is completely customized and based on your family’s lifestyle and health goals. Integral aspects of the program include techniques to help kids adjust to healthier habits as well as simplifying mealtime.  The four sessions include an education and goal setting session, a pantry cleaning, a personalized grocery shopping trip and a follow-up house call 4 weeks after your final session to help you keep up with your healthy new habits.

Session 1 Balancing Act (75 minutes)
To help you find the right balance in your family’s food plan, we’ll review your nutrition evaluation and discuss your health goals and lifestyle considerations. Next, we’ll develop a realistic program which includes healthy eating habits, foods to include and ingredients to avoid, healthier versions of your family’s favorite recipes, healthy dining out options, and more. Everything you need to bring healthy choices into your kitchen.

Session 2 Project Pantry (75 minutes)
After a brief review of session one, we’ll take on your kitchen one section at a time to determine what stays and what should go. Providing nutritious alternatives, kid-friendly recipes, storage suggestions and more will help you make yours a Conscious Kitchen. 

Session 3 Cart Smarts (90 minutes)
Armed with your personalized shopping list in hand, we’ll help you navigate your local grocery store. Once you know what to look for you’ll see how inexpensive and simple healthy eating can be. Your Conscious Kitchen will be filled with nutritious foods for you and your family to enjoy.

Session 4  Pantry Check-Up (30 minutes) 
To help you keep up with your new healthy habits, we’ll make an additional house call four weeks after your final session. You'll also receive a personalized folder packed with recipes, tips, and guidelines to aid and inspire you on your journey to health.

During this practical session, you will benefit from a question and answer session as you shop. Develop the confidence to read food labels, navigate the produce section and develop meal plans.
